Ex-Roseville Hollywood Video worker sentenced on molestation
A former Roseville resident has been sentenced to five years and eight months in state prison after pleading guilty to six counts of child molestation involving teenage boys. Michael David Harrison, 41, of North Highlands received the prison term Tuesday from Placer County Superior Court Judge Larry D. Gaddis. Harrison will also have to register as a sex offender and must pay $1,200 in restitution to a state fund, the judge ordered. Deputy District Attorney Jeff Wood said the victims ranged in age from 14 to 16 years old and that the illegal acts occurred between September 2006 and March 2008. Harrison worked at the Hollywood Video on Douglas Boulevard in Roseville and met at least two of his four victims there, even using a storage room to engage in lewd and lascivious acts. “Some of the other acts occurred at his home and another in a vehicle,” the prosecutor said. Three of the victims eventually came forward and reported the activity, triggering an investigation by Roseville police that led to Harrison’s arrest, Wood said.

I can't believe the difference in sentences on the two top stories today. One man molests two boys...ultimately resulting in problems for them that will last a lifetime...sentenced to less than 6 years and will likely serve little of that sentence. The other, a man who posed as a Surewest employee and stole their data...sentenced to 10 years and will serve at least 8 of them.
I'm not arguing that the 10 year sentece is extreme or harsh. I'm simply amazed how it's punished in comparison to a crime that is SO much worse. Just my two cents.
adqueen: I agree with you. Judge Gaddis has left me scratching my head lately with some of his sentencing. I am curious as to the reasons behind some of these senencings. Maybe there are legal limits that he has to abid by.
